Larry on hold

I have bit Larry to one side for a bit as I work on something new. This little girl has been a real challenge and alot of fun so far!

There is alot of work still to be done before I can start the portrait of her sister, but that is ok, flowers are fun to draw as well =]

Hope you like her so far

What a Starr!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting a lovely little dog called Starr. Starr is currently in the excellent care of ARF (Act Rescue and Foster) and is looking for a forever home. I will be starting a portrait of Starr after I have finished Larry's portrait so I better get a wriggle on!

Starr is a gorgeous little dog, who has had a little bit of a tough start to life. When I arrived she started out a little shy, but it did not take long for her to come over and say hello. She was really well behaved for her photos, as she already has some training under her belt. Lovely and polite, she was a pleasure to work with.

Here are some photos of her, I am looking forward to starting a portrait soon.

If you want to know more about Starr then please check out her information over at ARF's website. If you are looking for dog to light up your life, then please consider rescue.

An Update on Larry

Well the last few days have been pretty busy, almost hectic and after coming home from dog training last night I was so tired I didn't feel like doing much of anything. I did get a bit more of Larry done so most of the major details are done, now just lots of fur and hair ;p

A break from dogs

Well with Hamish finished it is now time to work on a new project. I thought I might add a horse to my collection of drawings, and decided it would be best to start with my own. Larry is a beautiful buckskin, who is currently living the free life out on my sisters farm. So far so good, only the rest of the piece to go =p

Hamish

Well I finished up Hamish last night. I tried soemthing a bit diffrent and tried to take the details out of his chest and such. Not sure if it worked out quite the way I wanted we will see, these kinds of works tend to grow on me a bit. I will be organising a Matt for it this week and then I will be placing it for sale. Apparently Hamish is settling into his new home, which is great news!

Hamish - WIP 2

I have been away for the last few days so progress on Hamish has been a bit slow. I thought I would post up my progress so far. He is a tough little cookie to draw, but I have been enjoying the challenge so far and hope to have quite a bit more done by the end of the week. I might even get him finished on the weekend if I can manage to set aside some time.

Hamish - WIP

So here is the beginnings of my next portrait. It is of a lovely little dog named Hamish. Hamish was rescued by Act Rescue and Foster (ARF) , he has since been adopted. These guys do a great job, saving many many dogs a year. Please consider dropping by their website and taking a look, if you are looking for a new dog then please consider rescue.

When this portrait is finished it will be for sale and part of the purchase price will be donated to ARF to help support them in their great work. I hope to be doing a few of these this year.
